I am by nature quiet a swinging pendulum with personal style and a lot more other things, today in particular I took a look at a -personal- classic item of cool...the Wayfarers.
Time -in the sphere of sunglasses has truely honoured this popular plastic frame that has like the aviator, transcended generations and spawned thousands of imitations from the original RayBans. Released in 1952, Raymond Stegeman initially intended for the Wayfarer to be used by pilots. But over time the design had a huge impact on society and fashion. Not only was the design far different from what preceded it but it was also pioneering in terms of its production technique, which moved sunglasses to a plastic moulded era from wire frames.
I say there is no frame like the wayfarer! Not only does it inject a sudden feeling of cool in me when i'm wearing them but also, I feel these are the lucky few frames that look good on almost everyone and suit your 9inch heels and your Hang Ten beach slops equally.
Funeral, wedding or first job interview........wear Wayfarers.
