David Tlale scouts in Durban

South African prominent fashion designer graced our warm sunny city Durban for his The Intern annual launch at the Moses Mabida Stadium. Two days of fashion and hard work was about to pay off for two of our local talents, Ruth Samaai and Sandile Mngadi, a trip to Johannesburg where they were going to be given a chance to work side to side with David Tlale under his international brand for a period of 12months, and accompany him to his New York fashion week showcase.

Through a strategic partnership between the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism (KZNDEDT) and the eThekwini Municipality’s Economic Development Unit, all participating designers were inspired and equiped with strategic guidance on the business of fashion and a vision that seeks to effectively organise & coordinate development and support for our local fashion and design sector. Though David could only walk away with two interns, it was good to see the amount of talent that is invested in KZN.
