The topnot/high bun

In China, the hairstyle is known as "ox horns", while in Japan buns are often called odango , we have grown to see them as more than just 'hair-tied-up'. The topnot(high bun) trend flooded the runways during the spring/summer 2010 fahion shows, it was a commonly used hairstyle up until the early 20th century, and can still be seen today when traditional attire is used in the Asian countries. This hairstyle differs today as we see this up do worn as a classic trend, either tightly gathered, piled to the front or slightly messier, if not clean and formal, twisted or plaited, and wrapped in a circular coil around itself. A bun worn high on the head is known as a "ballet bun" and that trend is currently my favourite up do on box braids.
