Durban doesn’t really have a large network of creative types supported by the local municipality, large successful brands, advertising and media houses like in Cape Town or Johannesburg who are normally the fuel by interesting city concepts that move around these places on the random regular. On my way to grab a cup of Vida coffee I came across a creative kind gesture by Durbanites for our world renowned icon Mr Nelson Mandele(Madiba). A fence at the corner of enlivened Gordon and Florida road proudly hangs with beautiful pad locks, in all sizes, shapes and colours as a symbol of love and thank you for the former president. After seeing this I made it a point to run to the nearest shop to join in the movement with a pretty pad-lock of my own to say "GET WELL. YOU CHANGED HUMAN LIFE FOREVER!"
I know this is not big but it is definitely something worth sharing as Durbanites lock love for utata.
