Some one once mentioned that Durban is so fertile that if you'd drop a pencil on the ground it would grow in to a fruitful tree that would soon wither away due to lack of support from its surrounding. That statement has proven true to many artists I have seen come and go. It makes me ask, what are we doing wrong and what can be done to reduce such things? Next year I have set goals to be part of the local fashion council, and assist in the creative stimulation of the city. This evidently will not be an easy path to try and get into but some thing's whether big or small are just worth the few shots you can pull.

A Fashion Council board should work with members of the city and a variety of fashion professionals to promote its fashion and growing talent to the rest of the country and world in innovative ways. It should also consist of a strong and creative advisory panel that will sustain an inclining and concrete fashion exhibition scene, showcase local designers and develop the cities footprint as a major player in the international fashion arena.
The blogger influx has been an overwhelming ride for the rest of the world and neighbouring cities around Durban yet I find that we still merely see it as a twinkle in the world wide web’s eye. There are so many thing that happen around our city that work towards picking up our fashion scene yet many a time the young creatives feel many of them do not touch on them or favour their growth in any way. I remain hopeful as I make plans to be a part of change. We need to have goals, we need to work our butts off, and we also need to create a legacy filled with moments that truly matter.
