Like with all things Hollywood and under the public eye, the limelight never magnifies its victims for too long. All hype and emotions die-out as something new stands target. But with all that noise now in the back seat, I thought to bring up some relevant words regarding that Vogue issue that set hearts on fire.
Aisha discussed the Kimye (Kanye and Kim) Vogue cover debate in a post of hers and though I too tilted towards those who questioned US Vogue's concluding cover models, I sat back and acknowledged there presence on the magazine after reading Aisha's words where she wrote the below:
“Vogue is no stranger to colouring outside the lines, changing things to make us uncomfortable yet question ourselves… Anna and her team are asking us to consider our generation and what we have created. Kim and Kanye speak volumes of the generation we live in. We live in a time where multi-racial relationships are normal, babies before marriage are no longer taboo, our opinions mean something, we are insta-famous and less private than ever before. Our generation changed the # symbol from a symbol to a tool used to group us together across borders and oceans and brand ourselves…We live in a time where someone’s micro fame is more influential than a big movie star’s macro fame. We are the self-made generation and Vogue salutes us.”- http://bakedtheblog.tgether.co.za/look-post-fake-it/
