The New Man. Pitti Uomo

The men who seem to have re-engineered the face of menswear on a global scale have me quiet frankly obsessed and fascinated. To call Pitti Uomo anything less than a clothing revolution is to be...well...1. uninformed about the game changing brand or 2. Blind and stubborn.

Since its genesis, Pitti Uomo has grown into the largest and most influential menswear trade show of its kind. They went on a search for the best designers and producers, and with a collective like that under one roof, they ushered in a new age and took us all back to dress up school.

Raffaelo Napoleone, the Chief Executive of Pitti Immagine Srl told B.O.F, “We are independent. The reason why we are so successful is because compared to the other trade shows or promoters we are not the son or daughter of a national association. Pitti belongs to Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana and we pay them a license fee, 2.5 percent of our turnover. But, we are not conditioned or constrained from the association. If there is a member of the Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana who has an awful collection, we don’t give him one square metre. We really choose. It is a meritocracy, we are the directors of our movie, and if the actor is not a good one for that kind of part of the movie, we do not write any contract with him. The fair is invitation only.”

I believe we have an established pillar for everyman out there.
