#DeepBreathe#
The past couple of weeks/days have been nothing less than busy - with sprinkles of stress. Between life and work, and the branding freelance job. The calls to pitch ideas, the friend who wants help here and the promise I made there, as well as the college assignments and trying to do the necessary things on the side like getting my license.
But here I am! I have missed posting words on my blog, images & quotes on my tumblr page.
It's MBFWCT 2014 tomorrow, and I couldn't resist a post on expectations.
Over 25 of the country’s top designers will present their collections in 15 shows at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, from the 24th (tomorrow) to 26th of July. My eye is on Gavin Rajah and Stefania Morland with an anticipation and promise on exclusivity. The fresh new talents also inject Thursday’s AFI Next Generation runway with something up to the minute to forecast. Expect to see new talent in the design industry with Nicholas Coutts, Alexandra Blanc (BLANC), Ernest Mahomane & AFI Young Designer of the Year 2014, Eleni Labrou (Akedo). The AFI Fastrack™ programme will also be doing an installation by the 2014 winners, Rich Mnisi, Tuelo Ngunyuka, Jessica Ross and Naazneen Kagee, who were all crowned Fastrack™ winners at MBFWJ earlier this year.
Sizwe Nzimande, spokesperson for African Fashion International (AFI) says, “As Cape Town enjoys its status as World Design Capital 2014, AFI is celebrating creative freedom under the pillars of Fashion, Art and Design, with various exciting developmental platforms to add a uniquely engaging element to the event.”
See the runway schedule below (I'm not so crazy about the below design :/ ).
