A Helsinki based fashion designer known for nature, art and old culture references in design puts things into new perspective once again in her collection. Last year it was her larger than life hats that had me quiet impressed with her design persepective, and this time around she keeps the ball rolling uphill, far ahead what people expect or anticipate (though anticipating something you would not have anticipated would land you in the right box).
This talented 2012 graduate from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture has Spring Summer 2015 competing well with nature and human forms of architectural silhouettes. She made research about finish folk craft traditions, the scrolls of Hermitage and the couturiers André Courrèges and Pierre Cardin who were known for avant-garde style and Space Age designs. Using both the exaggerated geometric shapes, metal and plastic in her designs, alongside having hand painted on top of digital prints, embroided on open silk screen prints she proved an impressive display of art. Those who spot innovative trends should not bat an eyelid when checking out Maaranens beautiful work, least they miss something.
How innovative are the eye pieces!
