Exchange with The Pav Shopping Center

There's a lot to be said about a country and those who part take / do their half to making it a better place for those in need. This months campaign at the Pav shopping center made me feel like a part of something great, a challenge of exchange that is both fun and worth the while.

Being a minimalist at heart I am a true believer in stacking up on quality over quantity. A few months ago I decided to do a personal exchange game with regards to my wardrobe. If a new item came in an old one (that's still in good condition) had to be donated/given away or swapped for something else from someone else. When the Pav started their campaign, introducing a pop-up exchange room I was quiet keen to be a part of it, more so because the clothing, shoes and bags donated would go to the less fortunate in exchange for a chance to win price discount coupons and the ultimate R10000 shopping spree.

"Though fashion industries are not known for championing political, environmental or social issues, it is quite a powerful industry that can."

I wrote the above statement on twitter a few days ago and it continues to prove truth. There is so much that the fashion/clothing industry or sectors can do to initiate good change and support in communities all over. And that is what our local Pav is doing, campaigning for change with you and what ever decent clothing you can bring through at The Exchange Room! I have been there to donate a few winter items myself and am very excited to see the amount of support that Durban is giving out!!!

  • Exchange the clothing items you no longer wear at the Pav pop-up exchange room with the lovely ladies and stand a chance to win discount coupons. Plus, if you spend R350 or more at any participating store within the Pav you stand a chance to win a R 10 000 shopping spree.

All old clothes, shoes or bags are then donated to the street store where the community will benefited - That's why we continue to #LovePav
