The future desk // Think out of the office

Some offices really make clocking-in a joy. The global economic down turn has contributed towards offices that extend their staff and clients to surrounding hot spots, introducing needed mobility instead of the stagnant desk. Re-writing the typical work space to make the city a more vibrant place that plays a role in supporting the quaint coffee shop next door for the 8am meeting or the bar two block away to help celebrate landing that deal.

Just the other day a colleague of mine and I headed over to The Foundry and Open Plan Studio  two buildings situated in one of Durban's upcoming creative precinct. Beautiful and well designed buildings of shared-spaces, providing local start-ups and creatives alike with a space to create. Being among a good collection of people going about their unique jobs escapes the yoke of formal work places can prove to harness better working conditions and productive environments.

Businesses with true ambition take on the future office. Work hubs that lure and inspire, be they in the comfort of a humble abode, or smack bang in the middle of a few buzzing restaurants.
