NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE!
A sepctacular exhibition by a little girl made a big splash in the New York art world this week. This four year old Aelita Andre of Australia has opened her first solo exhibition at the Agora gallery in Chelsea. Here is inspiration from a tender age. I'm blown away!
HERE IS SOME OF HER WORK
So if I splatter a canvas with paint like that I can make several thousand dollars?
ReplyDeleteWell, it helps if you're cute too!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe knows when a painting is done - many kids make a big mess and over-paint the good stuff...actually I spent 2 years taking my daughters art work away from her when it was "done" before she muddied it up, and she has begun to learn to leave a picture alone when her original intent is accomplished...my bet is that her parents, who are also artists, hover behind her and coach her, and clean her brushes so the colours stay clean, and maybe even convince her to let the layers dry before adding more. It also helps to have an advocate, as she does, the art dealer who agreed to represent her has a good reputation. Actors are often children of other actors...who knows, this might come back to have a negative effect on the child when she is older, because, like other child talents, people judge them based on their age...I think it's great that she might now have a trust fund for her use when she is older...but I hope she doesn't end up discouraged later in life.
ReplyDelete@JANE...YES IT HELPS. HAHAHA
