My BLACK IS MISSING!!!

I am a self-confessed shopaholic, magaholic (term I use to describe a magazine addict) and fashionista. The kind of girl who Will buy that Nine West dusty pink leather bag with her last, sending a message of love and applauding great designs with my wallet while her friends get what’s only needed and save up for rainy days. My love for the better things in life and the fashion industry pushes me not only in debt but also to bigger possibilities and dreams.

A very unfortunate trend in the fashion industry has allowed me to once again see an opportunity to do something different for myself and others. The lack of Black models on the runways. Over the years a minimal amount of black models on the runways. Black models being scarce or non-existent in the industry got me passionate about starting an agency where colour is truly celebrated and its natural beauty put out there for the world to acknowledge. By no means am I saying that there has been no progress over the years but it’s still a fact that white models are primary interest in fashion. Our big-shot Designers are clearly choosing to turn a blind eye to this predicament forgetting that they are pulling away the Black market.

In March I came across a very interesting article in the New York magazines Spring Fashion issue by black fashion editor Robin Givhan that I think every fashion lover must see (Why Fashion Keeps Tripping Over Race).

Vouge features Liya Kebede and Jourdan Dunn...
