If I were in the city, I would probably run down to grab a Star Bucks before entering this post! But seeing as my city sleeps I leave no space for such luxuries in my head. Dear apple of my eye, the city that never sleeps...there is so much the world can learn from you and the early adopters that inhabit your vibrant and influential streets. The terrible rush of the morning, the attempts to hail a cab on your street corners... You by far are one of the most incredible and one of the most bizarre. New York, New York.
New York is a fashion Capital that speaks volumes in the fashion industry, translating a language of unpredictable style and influential trends. Something I consider a different declaration of independence.
Just last week Thursday we saw the end of New Yorks spring collection where many designers offered a special occasion showcase as the runway turned in models in spectacular pieces. It seemed the white shirt however, spoke a large deal amongst the audience in its manifestation and triumph. This city gathered a unique spring/summer flair, cocktail shirt-dresses, exaggerated cuffs that often cover the hand, and dramatised evening gowns. Jenna of J.Crew eased the mood with polished shirts, easy white shorts, denim contrasts with an addition of what looked like a hint of safari inspired hues and silhouettes alongside loose fitting items and tailored pants The kind of style Durban would fit into and find @ThePavSA.
Today marks as day 7 of the Fashion Capital cut out seek. And what better brand/store to compliment the American True blue(red and white) than a store that knows that jeans are much more than just denim and grommets! Staying true to the rich heritage — and authentic, all-American spirit — of denim, this Brand began crafting great-fitting, vintage-inspired jeans in Los Angeles in 1990 and graces the Pavilion Shopping Centre for those who know timeless staples. Apart from connecting us to the season at hand, my obsession with the New Yorker and this store is one that will last me a lifetime. The energy it lends to others through its various cultures, both this city and brand goes without saying that its style struts the streets beyond fashion.
If you know or can spot where the Fashion Capital icon is taken, head over to the Pavilion Shopping Centre and snap a picture of the above, upload it on your social network tagging #LovePav and you could be a 'Lucky' winner!
